de profundis

I had 1000 things to do today. Sun was shining and I was waiting for the last rays to get out for a walk on Père Lachaise...
I've never been to this part of the graveyard... Its the one with the monuments of the people who died in Nazi camps. Each and every one of them is a master piece. It took me so long to see them all... I heard the bell in the distance (Dylan's song?!) and thought it was a church somewhere around. They were actually calling people to come back cause the graveyard was closing. I almost stayed inside locked. I met the figure of Balzac while almost running.
"They died for your freedom" the monuments say. It gives me the shiver.

This is Palermo.

Street food place on Piazza S. Francesco. You can eat all kinds of animal's insides. Lovely, no?

My way home...

roma is forever

Bologna bianca!

Roma gialla!

1 - beautiful restaurant somewhere in Trastevere (if I remember well somewhere near via Mattonato)... They have nice street seats, and huge choice of really good pastas (and pizzas, btw), I recommend one with "porchini" and cheese. The one on the photo is pasta with spinach+shrimps. Yummy!
2 - Tevere or Tiber is not a river for someone who spent his life on Danube... But stroll is as amazing!
3 - ok. food. again. We got a suggestion to take a walk in quartiere Monti (around Metro station Cavour) and then all of a sudden while we were looking at a map, Mari, my copilot heard a sentence from a handsome guy who was passing by: "Here is the place where they make the best cannoli siciliani in whole Rome". So we entered CuiriCuiri bar. And cannoli are...amazing. Again :)

so long.
