Three days in Slovenia. Ok, four.

When I was born, Slovenia was the part of the country where I was born. Later it became a separate country. It was once on our way to the mountains somewhere in Austria. We stopped in the capital, Ljubljana, but just for a drink.
This year I was visiting Slovenia again, this time I stayed for a few days there and I had a chance to explore it well. Ljubljana, at least. My company was great, weather was a bit tropical and the capital itself was gorgeous.
Here are a few drawing from my journal:

Dude

I have a friend who ran a marathon today. She finished it. Its amazing!!
Yesterday we made a massive walk (8 km)...direction... well, whatever... its Saturday and its lovely and Sam will join us.
Sam is a guy who is remo(r)tely related to Nicole Kidman, whose grandma was a chicken sexor (google it, and no, its not a power metal bend from Australia) and who is busking up on the Montmartre hill for the past few days (thats not how I met him). Btw, I don't think he knows how shark looks like (which makes him even more peculiar since he is from the place where they have a bunch of them) and he has a general problem with fauna (and flora). Strange dude.
But Annie finished 26.21875. In miles. Brava <3

sweden&sailors&love stories

Up, north, from Karen Blixen's house, some 25 minutes more by train you arrive to Helsingør, place where Hamlet's castle is situated. Here you can see paysage of Sweden on the other side of the bay. Øresund is the name of the strait and it has some nice love story that I don't remember anymore.
I don't think I've ever experienced such wind in summer.

you are beautiful

and my bf's cadillac... not.

København

I headed up the road and finished in Copenhagen visiting my friend and comrade Mathieu. I've done many sketches these days. You can learn about nordic city culture on each and every step. I tried to make illustrations that represent what I saw and what I felt. Once I finish them I will put them somewhere...
I love this psycho killer installation of knifes that you can find in every kitchen (I saw it in 3). Although it was around 23 C, and that is called summer in CPH, btw, flowers are everywhere... Winter&spring flowers mostly, thou XD

autumn

There is no way that I can put all the photos I made retroactively. I tried. I don't know how to cheat. There - I said it.

Sun still shines bright but the wind is getting more chilly these days. I don't mind. Not now, when the autumn smells around. I loved it back in Panonian plains, I love it here. It is different but yet: colours, sounds and aromas are equally seductive.
Sunday was beautiful. People in the streets, men laughing and waves licking the shores. We went for -gelato- and finished with vintage bag in the most beautiful chocolate brown colour (I am telling you that I am totally in love with season) that now belongs to a good friend. From 30 E we came to powerful 17 E. Cuir. Vero. Made in Italy.
Roma vs Lazio 2night. Pizza with gorgonzola cheese.
In love with Sundays...

+all photos are from this afternoon, check out strange lights, horses&seagulls on the beach near our home...

Zagabria

I went to:
♥ see a good friend of mine
♥ meet her fiance
♥ enjoy on Cres and finally meet that Croatian cost (nice to meet you, btw!)>> soon to be posted photos of it!
♥ love Z. more than usuall
♥ show our pale winter bodies on a beach full of dark sexy personas>> photos will never be posted!

We spent afternoon in Zagreb. I love it. It is somewhere between Novi Sad and Belgrade. Beauty, people, spirit. That was my second time and I will come back for more, I promise!

Check out these BEAUTIFUL flowers. We take this bouquet from Zagreb to the coast and it (poor thing) survived. A small present for my friend's mum who was our main chef those few days.

Kuglof romance

Few weekends ago, my friend Claudia visited me for the first time. Story goes: I met her in Oxford in 2002, I visited her in Lausanne in 2009 and she came to visit me this year. We had quite a time and enjoyed those few days on every level: we heard good music, we ate good food and we saw beautiful places.

Karlovci is one of my favorite places around. There's a famous wine fest in September, but honestly, not just because of that. Transcendental silence of a small town, mountains around and Danube just a few minutes away make it just a perfect place for living if you are asking me...

+ my good friend from Belgrade comes to Karlovci to buy wine. I would, but still, I am not a huge wine lover. If you are headin' there for a first time buy/try Bermet, the most famous wine sort around. There are many different tasted of bermet, but my favourite is the one from vinarija Živanović
+ visit Danube riverside. There are a few different cafés, but I would sit in the most shabby one with wooden banks and many fishermen around. For a true experience.
+ on the second photo here, is the Kapela Mira where the Treaty of Karlowitz was signed. My favorite useless fact about this topic is that there, for the first time was used round table on some congress...
+ as Claudia is not a wine admirer she went for a kuglof. My favourite tea time cookie. On linked site (if you use google translate) you can find plenty of different recipes for it. And I will join you for a tea break, definitively!
